Cosmetic Storefront Enhancements Downtown Miami

Since reports in January of 2011, debates continue over changes to increase pedestrian activity and create a more inviting Downtown, more pleasing to the eyes, is currently being pushed by Miami Commission Chairman Marc Sarnoffs.  His plan to remove security shutters from Downtown businesses in efforts to support the business improvement district will bring some expenses to store owners to improve their current storefronts, but the city is lending a hand by supporting 75% of the costs and allowing 2 years for owners to make changes to their storefronts.  The Chairman is also expecting to hire 300 police officers over the next 3 years to pacify the fears of local store owners from the current local conditions of Downtown, that sometimes look and feel a little gritty.
